To choose a style: Go to the EndNote tab in Word. Before you insert any citations into your document, choose the referencing style that you want to use. Choose the appropriate referencing style.

  • The EndNote ribbon should appear immediately in Word. It adds an EndNote tab to Word that allows you to connect your Word document and the references in your EndNote library.
  • Make sure the box beside it is ticked, then click OK. Check Create a bibliography for each section. This allows you to create multiple reference list for a single Word document. Click Edit and then click Sections from the left hand panel when the style window opens.
  • If CWYW is installed, then EndNote Cite While You Write will appear as one of the add-ins available. Go to Edit ->Output Styles -> Open Style Manager and choose the style you are using (i.e., APA).
